The Defenders set the tone immediately with an overwhelming 27-5 opening frame, highlighted by a 16-0 run to start the game. During that initial surge, Gracie Schoonhoven ignited the offense with two quick baskets, while Macy Sievers and Desta Hoogendoorn dominated the paint with back-to-back layups. The defense held Waldorf to 12 points in the entire first half, allowing Dordt to enter the locker room with a commanding 39-point lead.

Dordt refused to take their foot off the gas in the second half, opening the third quarter with a 12-2 burst. Macy Sievers orchestrated the run with two assists to Hoogendoorn and a steal that led to her own transition bucket, followed by a Schoonhoven basket that pushed the lead past 50.

The Defenders' depth proved itself in the fourth quarter with Nikki McSpadden and McKenzie Goodwin combined for a late 9-0 run to bring the score to the brink of the century mark. 16 different Defenders scored
