The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) announced its weekly indoor track and field honors and Isaac Davelaar earned Men's Runner of the Week for his performance at the Mark Schuck Open last weekend.

Notes:

• this is the fifth installment of the weekly awards for the 2026 indoor season and encompasses competitions from Jan.26 - Feb.1
• Davelaar earns the honor for the second time this indoor season
  • also on Jan.15
• Davelaar is the fourth Dordt runner to claim the weekly conference honor during the 2026 season

• the junior hit the 'B' standard in three events; Distance Medley, 400m and the 4x400 relay
• Davelaar ran the 800m leg of the DMR on Friday night where the Defenders earned the win and clocked the No.6 time in the NAIA
• Davelaar followed with a runner-up finish in the 400m with a 48.28, currently 13th fastest in the NAIA
• he then anchored the Defenders 4x400 relay to a second place finish and bettered their NAIA Qualifying time (3:16), 8th best in the NAIA
• Davelaar is part of five events that have qualified for nationals; 400m, 600m, 4x400 relay, 4x800 relay and DMR
• the Defenders will compete as a split squad this weekend at the Wildcat Invite (Friday, Feb.6) and the Frank Sevigne Husker Invite (Friday/Saturday, Feb. 6-7)
