The No. 1 ranked Dordt Defenders pulled away for a 108-54 victory over the College of Saint Mary, but the start was close.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After
Macy Sievers opened the scoring with a jump shot, the Flames tied it at 2-2 on a Haley Debuse bucket.
Gracie Schoonhoven briefly regained the lead for Dordt, but Kathryn Gaughen tied it again at 4-4 with a layup.
Desta Hoogendoorn then put Dordt up 6-4, only for Jai'La Porter to level the score at 6-6. The final two ties occurred when
Olivia Harazin's layup was answered by a second Debuse jump shot (8-8), and Schoonhoven's subsequent layup was matched by another Kathryn Gaughen score, makin g it 10-10 with 6:00 left in the first quarter.
From that point, Dordt took control for good, sparked by back-to-back three-pointers from
Macy Sievers to ignite an 11-0 run. This surge included a Schoonhoven free throw, another Sievers jump shot, and a Drent layup, extending the lead to 24-12. The Defenders finished the half with a massive 25-4 burst, highlighted by consecutive three-pointers from
Stella Charleston that pushed the halftime lead to 58-24.
The Defenders are now 23-1 overall and 17-1 in the league. Dordt will face Briar Cliff on Wednesday night, February 11. Dordt has four games remaining.
