The Dordt Defenders were swept on the road by William Penn on Friday night in Oskaloosa, Iowa, falling 25-14, 25-19, 26-24 in GPAC play.

William Penn opened the match with a quick surge, scoring the first five points of the opening set and building a 12-5 lead before extending the margin to 20-11 on the way to a 25-14 win. Dordt found its footing early in the second set and jumped out to a 3-0 lead after a pair of blocks by Lance Vermeer and Kai Chapman, but William Penn responded with a run to take control and eventually pushed its advantage to 17-10 before securing a 25-19 victory.

The third set proved to be the most competitive. Dordt used a 6-0 stretch to turn a 3-3 tie into a 9-3 lead and later led 21-20 after a Vermeer kill. William Penn answered to regain the lead at 24-22, but Dordt rallied with back-to-back kills from Cade Schmidt to tie the score at 24-24. William Penn closed the match with the final two points to claim the three-set win.
