The Event: 

• the Dordt University men's track and field team will make its outdoor season debut at the two-day Wildcat Classic this weekend in Wayne, Neb.
• the two-day competition will take place at the LeRoy Simpson Track on the campus of Wayne State College
• just two events, javelin and hammer, will take place on Friday, March 27 beginning at 1pm
• the majority of the meet is on Saturday, March 28 with field events at 11am and running events at 1pm

• this is the first weekend of competition for the Defenders during the outdoor season
• the outdoor season is made up of five weeks of the regular season where the Defenders have scheduled seven meets, leading up to the conference championship in week six
• this year's GPAC Outdoor Championship will be on May 1-2 and hosted by Midland University in Fremont, Neb.
• following a "last chance qualifier" in Vermillion, S.D. on May 8, the Defenders, who qualify, will compete at the 2026 NAIA Outdoor Championships
• this year's outdoor championship will be in Asheville, N.C.
