The Heart of America Athletic Conference has announced its men's volleyball all-conference honors and three Dordt Defenders have been recognized for their play this season.

Joel Van Groningen (Junior; Ripon, California), Colt Schmidt (Freshman; Palmdale, California) and Cade Schmidt (Junior; Palmdale, California) were all accorded honors in the voting done by conference coaches at the conclusion of the regular season.

Van Groningen is a first-team selection and led the Defenders with a 3.9 kills per set average and 58 ace serves. A six-rotation player, Van Groningen also gets to 1.5 dips per set and has a .278 kill efficiency.

Colt Schmidt led the team with 4.1 digs per set and was a second-team selection and had 21 ace serves.

Cade Schmidt put down 2.7 kills per set with a .204 kill efficiency and recorded 16 ace serves with 1.6 digs per outing.

The Defenders are 22-9 entering Heart of America Conference Tournament play and finished tied for fifth in the league with a 12-7 conference record.  Dordt faces Missouri Valley in the quarterfinals on Saturday, April 11 with the semifinal on Wednesday, April 15 and the finals on Saturday, April 18.
