The Dordt University men's golf team is fourth place after 36-holes of the 2026 Great Plains Athletic Conference Championship held today at the Dakota Dunes Country Club in Dakota Dunes, S.D. The final round of the 2-day, 54-hole championship will be played tomorrow (Tuesday, April 21).Â
The Defenders shot a 36-hole total of 613 (305 / 308) and are 14 strokes in back of both Hastings and Morningside who hold the lead after day one with a 599. Northwestern is third with a 608 while Dakota Wesleyan rounds out the top five teams and is in fifth place with a 621.Â
Dordt was in second place after the morning session with a 305, five strokes in back of Morningside. The Defenders came back with a 308 in the afternoon session and dropped a couple of spots in the standings.Â
Hastings recorded the lowest 18-hole team score with a 292 this afternoon.
The Defenders were led on day one by Joesph Wolfe and
Samuel Wolfe who are tied for sixth with a 151 (+7).
Joseph Wolfe fired rounds of 75 and 76 on the day while
Samuel Wolfe was one of three golfers to be tied for the lead after the opening 18 holes with an even-par 72. The junior came back with a 79 in the afternoon session.
Caleb Douma sits just outside the top 20 in a four-way tie for 21st place with a 156 (+12), opening with a 79 followed by a 77. Ian Grossman and
Trey Van Groningen are tied for 28th with a 36-hole totale of 159. Grossman carded rounds of 79/80 and Van Groningen began with an 83 and came back with a 76 in the afternoon.
Max Nielsen (Hastings) is the overall leader with a two-over 146 and holds a one stroke lead over Qwenton Caldwell Northwestern) and a two-shot advantage over Peyton Bettcher (Dakota Wesleyan).Â
