Boston Gerdes netted the go-ahead goal during the 33rd minute to lead the Dordt University men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over the University of Providence in a non-conference match played this afternoon on Argos Field in Great Falls, Montana.
The Defenders improve to 1-0-1 on the young 2026 season while the host Argos fall to 0-1.

Alvaro Boned initiated the game-winning attack with a ball cleared to midfield.
Enzo Lira de Paula back-touched the ball to
Vincent Croney who then followed with a through ball to Gerdes who angled the game-winner to the right corner of the goal.
Both teams scored a goal in the opening 20 minutes of the first period.
Ike D'Silva put the Defenders in front at the 15:44 mark when he powered a shot past Argos goalie Teddy Tenbow from 15-yard out off an assist from
Henry Haufler.
Providence answered back during the 23rd minute on a goal by Dane Hager, assisted by Elian Martinez.
The Defenders were unable to capitalize on several good scoring opportunities over the final 45 minutes.
