The Dordt University women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw against Culver-Stockton (Mo.) in a match played this evening at Poulton Stadium in Canton, Mo.
The Defenders move their record to 0-1-1 as they head into a Monday afternoon match against William Penn. Culver-Stockton is now 1-1-1 this season.
Trailing 1-0 early in the second half,
Joslyn Vander Molen scored the equalizer off a pass from
Rilanna Newcomb during the 58th minute. The scoring play was initiated after a Culver-Stockton foul that set up a free kick at midfield for the Defenders.
Defense dominated play in the opening half as both teams went scoreless and managed a combined 10 shots with none on frame in the first 45 minutes.Â
Culver-Stockton scored first as Lola Weise put away a close shot in front of the Defenders goal off a cornerkick during the 55th minute.Â
