The Dordt Defender women's volleyball team traveled to Fremont on Saturday afternoon for a Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) matchup, falling 3-1 (25-22, 18-25, 21-25, 23-25) to the Midland Warriors at the Wikert Event Center.

With the result, Dordt moves to 11-7 overall and 2-4 in GPAC play, while Midland improves to 13-5 overall and 4-2 in the conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Set 1 (Dordt 25, Midland 22): The opening set remained tight throughout before Dordt used late offense to secure the advantage. After Midland trimmed the margin to 24-22, Shayna Van Dyken closed out the set with a kill off an assist from Chloe Huisman. Dordt hit .281 in the frame with 14 kills.
- Set 2 (Midland 25, Dordt 18): Midland responded in the second set by building an early lead and recorded three aces in the frame. The Warriors hit .364 with 14 kills against two attack errors to level the match at one set apiece.
- Set 3 (Midland 25, Dordt 21): Dordt erased an early deficit in the third set, taking a 24-21 lead late behind consecutive kills from Ada Dekkers. However, Midland mounted a four-point push to close the frame, taking advantage of Dordt miscues to take a 2-1 lead in the match.
- Set 4 (Midland 25, Dordt 23): The fourth set featured several momentum shifts. Midland built a 24-20 advantage late, but Dordt fought off three straight match points with a block from Dekkers and Haley Kuperus, a Kuperus kill, and a Warrior attack error. Midland secured the match on the next rally with an Abree Plueger kill.
