No.12 Dordt University picked up a key conference win, downing (RV) Hastings in four sets 25-23, 25-22, 21-25 and 25-19, in a match played tonight at the DeWitt Gym.
Dordt improves to 5-3 in the GPAC, 11-5 overall, and move ahead of the Broncos in the current leagu standings. Hastings dropped its third straight match and is now 5-4 in the league, 16-8 overall.
Grace Langemeier put down a career-high 19 kills and hit over .300 to lead the Defenders attack.
Ellie Voss (11 kills, 4 blocks) and
Brenna Krommendyk (10 kills, 1.5 blocks) both hit over .300 and provided the Defenders with production in the middle.

Dordt fell behind by as many as seven before strong serving runs from Makenna Kooima and Avey Amelse brought the Defenders back and take a 20-19 lead following a kill by Amelse

the Defenders trailed early in the second set as Hastings rode the play of Peyton Roper to take a 6-2 lead

Dordt began to rally and eventually went ahead for the first time, 13-12, after a Kooima ace serve

the teams traded points the rest of the way as the lead switched hands four times

down 22-21, Dordt scored the final four points, finished off with another Langemeier kill, to take a 2-0 lead

Hastings used a 6-2 run to turn an early deficit into an 9-6 lead, a lead that the Broncos held to for the rest of the set

Dordt rallied to within one (19-18) but the Broncos closed with a 6-3 run to force a fourth set

Dordt began the fourth set with an 8-1 run and never trailed in final set that the Defenders hit a match-high .333

Krommendyk recorded her 10th and final kill on match point to hold off a late Broncos rally
