Harazin Added To Dordt Basketball Program

(Friday, December 2; Sioux Center, Iowa) Olivia Harazin, a senior at Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial (Minnesota), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender women's basketball program.  

"We are thrilled to welcome Olivia to Dordt University. Olivia has an awesome personality and a highly supportive family. She's a fantastic student and will certainly contribute greatly to our campus community and team culture. Olivia has had a stellar high school career to this point. She's a physical three-level scorer that will continue to improve throughout her college career. We are excited to serve Olivia as she embarks on her college journey," said Dordt basketball coach Bill Harmsen.  

Harazin is a 5-8 guard and she averaged 22.2 points per game during her junior year with three assists, six rebounds and 3.8 steals per game. Harazin has scored over 1,600 points during her career and has also played for the Minnesota Rise program.  

"I chose Dordt because it felt like home, and everyone is so genuine and kind. Coach Harmsen and I connected very well," said Harazin.  

Olivia is the daughter of Henry and Sue Harazin of Lake Crystal, Minnesota. She plans to study criminal justice at Dordt.  

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).  

?U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
