Dordt will face Morningside on Wednesday, September 21 with the JV match starting at 6:00 and the varsity contest at about 7:30.

The game will be played at the DeWitt Gym in Sioux Center, Iowa.

RECENTLY

The Defenders were scheduled to play Jamestown on Saturday, September 17 and were tied 1-1 with the Jimmies when a medical emergency involving a spectator from Jamestown halted the match and the contest didn't continue.  Dordt had a five match winning streak stopped on September 10 in a 3-2 loss to Northwestern.  Dordt dropped sets one and two 25-23, 25-19 and came back to win sets three and four 25-20 and 25-23. Northwestern secured the match win with a 15-9 victory. Dordt scored 11 points on blocks but Northwestern had 65 kills to Dordt's 50. Corrina Timmermans had 12 kills and Isabella Cumana put down 11. Brenna Krommendyk added nine kills and Allison Timmermans had seven. Sophie Johnson put up 22 aces and Megan Raszler had 18. Johnson got to 15 digs and Makenna Kooima had 14 while Ellie Foss assisted on five blocks and Brenna Krommendyk had two solo and three assisted blocks.

Morningside has lost three matches in a row with 3-0 losses to Jamestown, Dakota State and Dakota Wesleyan starting on September 10. Against Dakota Wesleyan on September 17 the Mustangs hosted and lost to the Tigers 25-20, 25-23, 25-20. Sydney Marlow and Claire Wilson each had 10 kills and Nienke van Drunen had eight kills. Marlow accounted for 18 digs and two of Morningside's aces and  De Pauw put up 31 assists.

THE SERIES

Dordt is 7-1 in the series since 2017 with the lone loss in the run coming on October 7, 2020.  Most recently Dordt beat Morningside 3-0 and 3-1 last season.  In the October 6, 2021 match Dordt had a 53-50 kills advantage and hit for a .243 kill efficiency. Corrina Timmermans had 19 kills and Jessi Franken added 11. Mia Gamet had three ace serves and Megan Raszler put up 46 assists.  Morningside got 12 kills from Marlow and she also had 13 digs and Claire Wilson had 11 kills. 
Dordt leads the overall series 33-19.
