(Tuesday, November 21; Sioux Center, Iowa) Avery Cason, a senior at Lawton Bronson High School (Iowa), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender volleyball program.
"I'm very excited for Avery to join our program! She comes from a solid volleyball background and has trained hard to be the player that she is today. More importantly, I'm excited for Avery to join our team and impact the culture. She was excited about the family-like environment of our team and I look forward to her flourishing in it!" said Dordt volleyball coach Jacki Smith.
Cason is a libero/defensive specialist who had 801 career digs in two seasons and averaged 4.7 digs per set while earning second-team all-conference honors.
"I chose Dordt because I wanted to be part of a team that felt like family and a school that would give me the freedom to explore my faith more," said Cason.
Avery is the daughter of Ronna and Jason Cason. She plans to study exercise science at Dordt.
