The Dordt Defender softball team was an 8-0 winner over Mayville State in the first game of the day in a classic hosted by the Defenders on Saturday, February 18. Saturday was day two of the 16-game weekend.
Dordt got four in the first has
Ivy Terpstra and
Lauren Steenstra each singled for a run batted in and a third came in on an error.Â
Taylor Knaack finished the frame with a run scoring single for a 4-0 advantage. Dordt added to the lead with
Emma Groen doubling in
Karli Olsen and Terpstra delivered a single for a 6-0 lead.
Brooklynn Cox figured into the final two runs with a single in the third and another in the fifth that plated the last two runs of the game and ended the contest in the bottom of the fifth.
