GAME TWO

The Dordt Defenders needed a two run seventh inning to secure an 8-7 win over Dakota Wesleyan in Sioux Center on Saturday, March 25.

Dordt twice rallied from three run deficits and didn't lead until a single ended it with two outs in the seventh frame.

Wesleyen scored three in the first before Dordt got two in the home half of the inning on an Ella Koster double that scored Karli Olsen. Ivy Terpstra later singled in Koster to make it 3-2.

Wesleyan had an answer with two more in the second for a 5-2 lead Dordt pulled even in the fourth with Bryn Torrenga grounded out to get Emma Groen in from third and Chandler Schemper's double scored Brooklynn Cox and Aurora Tyson.

Wesleyan took the lead back at 6-5 in the fifth and Dordt rallied for the equalizer on a Cox triple that scored Luaren Steenstra.  Dordt left Cox stranded and Wesleyan unlocked the tie with a run in the seventh.

The Tigers recorded the first two outs of the last frame without incident but a pop fly fell for a hit in rifht field and Ivy Terpstra didn't hesitate in legging out the double. Emma Groen followed with a grounder to the hole between short and third that she legged out for an infield single.  Jessica Flaherty, running for Terpstra,  didn't hesitate in racing home from second to tie the game.
