(Wednesday, April 5; Sioux Center, Iowa) Morgan Van Elderen, a student at Modesto Junior College (California), has announced her intention to enroll at Dordt University and join the basketball program.
Van Elderen is a 2020 Ripon Christian High School (California) graduate who scored 1,267 points with 726 rebounds, 436 assists and 207 steals during her high school career. She averaged over 14 points per game with eight rebounds per contest in her junior and senior seasons at Ripon Christian and earned all-league honors for times along with all-district honors. Van Elderen was also a much decorated athlete in softball and volleyball. Van Elderen averaged 3.7 points per game for Modesto Junior College in 2022-23 with 2.9 rebounds per game.
"I've chosen to continue my academic and athletic career at Dordt because I believe it's where I belong and where I am supposed to be. Our God works in mysterious ways and my college experience is a great example of this. I know I am going to be able to grow as a leader academically, athletically and spiritually at Dordt. I couldn't be more excited to join this special community and play womens's basketball for Defender Nation," said Van Elderen.
Morgan is the daughter of Brad and Andrea Van Elderen of Ripon, California. She plans to study education.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition.
