(Thursday, May 18; Sioux Center, Iowa) Quinn Grubbs, a senior at Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton High School (Iowa), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender basketball program.  

"Quinn is a great addition to our basketball program and campus community.  She has a servant's heart and truly wants to maximize her gifts both on and off the court.  She is a tremendous basketball player that will continue to improve and develop during her time at DU.  We are looking forward to Quinn's time on campus!" said Dordt basketball coach Bill Harmsen. 

Grubbs is a 5-6 guard who averaged 17.6 points per game with 4.4 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 3.7 steals for the Spartans this season and she made 57 three-point shots. She was a four-time all-conference selection and twice claimed IGCA First-Team All-State honors in 2021 and 2023.  Grubbs as a second-team pick in 2022 and was an all-district selection four times. Grubbs helped Exira-EHK to the state tournament in 2021 and 2022.  

"Dordt's campus, coaches and students were inviting and felt like family, leaving me with a great feeling after every vist. The university provides me with everything I was looking for in a future college including a personable feel, my intended field of study and a great basketball program," said Grubbs.  

Quinn is the daughter of Rodney and Connie Grubbs of Casey, Iowa. She plans to study nursing.
