(Thursday, July 13; Sioux Center, Iowa) Hannah Van Hofwegen, a graduate of Mount Vernon Christian High School (Washington), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender basketball program.
Van Hofwegen was a member of the senior all-state team and a first-team all-league selection. She was on the 2022 1B State Championship team.
"I chose Dordt because of the community of people that was here when I visited and the Christian community I can grow in and I get the opportunity to play basketball," said Van Hofwegen.
Hannah is the daughter of Tim and Heather Van Hofwegen of Mount Vernon, Washington. She plans to study education at Dordt.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).?
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
