(Friday, January 12; Sioux Center, Iowa)  Taylor Watson, a senior at Henry High School (South Dakota), has announced her intention to attend Dordt University and join the Defender basketball program.

"We are so excited to welcome Taylor to our basketball team and Dordt University.  Taylor is experiencing a great senior season for the Falcons of Florence/Henry.  Taylor is a selfless teammate who loves to compete at a high level.  We are looking forward to serving Taylor when she arrives next fall!" said Dordt basketball coach Bill Harmsen.

Watson averages 10 points per game with five assists and four rebounds. She is a 5-9 guard and earned all-conference honorable mention honors three times during her career.

"I chose to attend Dordt because of the welcoming atmosphere. Everyone at Dordt is so friendly and encouraging towards each other. The Dordt campus radiates positive energy and I think I will feel comfortable there even though I am away from home. I also love how uplifting and close the Dordt women's basketball team is," said Watson.

Taylor is the daughter of Troy and Nicky Watson of Henry, South Dakota. She plans to enter the pre-physical therapy program.
