The Dordt women's basketball team opened up their GPAC schedule with a commanding 98-47 win over the College of Saint Mary Flames.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The first quarter began with both teams trading buckets as an Aleigha Jackson layup tied it up at four and the and-one foul gave the Flames the lead. That lead wouldn't last long as the Defenders went on a 12-2 run sparked by a
Macy Sievers layup. Dordt would hold that lead for the rest of the game and would end the first quarter with a 25-12 lead.
Dordt picked up right where they left off as
Willow Bleeker knocked down a three. Dordt would slowly run away with it as
Macy Sievers hit a three and Dordt would lead at the half, 46-29.
Dordt controlled much of the third quarter as
Janie Van Donge scored 16 of Dordt's 25 points and
Macy Sievers had four steals that played a part in holding CSM to just eight points. Dordt extended their lead 71-37 capped off by a
Janie Van Donge jumper to end the quarter.
The Defenders put together another solid quarter on both sides of the floor that saw eight different players score including seven points form
