The Dordt Defender volleyball team lost a 25-20, 25-23, 25-22 decision to Valley City State in Valley City, North Dakota on Saturday night. The Defenders are now 14-14 overall and will conclude the regular season on Tuesday.

Dordt had an 18-15 lead in set one after a
Tarren Spartz kill but the Vikings scored nine in a row before Dordt's
Haley Kuperus ended the run with a kill. Dordt got another point with
Kelly McArthur getting a kill but the Vikings finished it with a kill for a 25-20 win.
The momentum continued into set two and Dordt had to fight back from an early nine-point deficit. The Defenders rallied to within 18-16 with
Haley Wielenga in the service box. Dordt eventually tied it 22-22 with Kuperus and McArthur teaming up for a block for the tie but a service error followed by a block put Valley City State up 24-22 and they went on to win 25-23.
Dordt had an early five point lead in set three but the hosts bounced back and tied it at 8-8 and the Vikings never trailed again in winning 25-22.
