(Monday, November 18; Sioux Center, Iowa) Kasey Hanson, a senior at Vermillion High School (South Dakota), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender volleyball program.
Hanson has averaged 9.2 points per game during her career and has 752 career points with 306 rebounds and 142 assists. She's a three-time DAK XII All-Conference selection and has been a four-year starter at Vermillion. Vermillion won the 2024 State A Girls Basketball State Championship. She's also played for the South Dakota Attack and Sanford Sports Academy.
"From my first visit I knew Dordt was the place I wanted to play. Everyone was overwhelmingly welcoming and supportive, so I felt very at home. The dedication and frequent conversations about Christ and His impact on our lives was also something that I connected with immediately. Dordt's values align very well with my own so it was an easy decision," said Hanson.
