The Dordt Defenders dropped two games to the Jamestown Jimmies in Sioux Center this afternoon.Â
GAME ONE
HOW IT HAPPENED
Dordt lost the first game of the afternoon by a score of 10-4. It was a game that the Defenders had no problem getting hits but had trouble stringing them together. Dordt finished the game with 10 hits but only four runs.
Jamestown struck first with a run scored in the second inning off a wild pitch from
Justin Bryson (0-1). They added two more in the top half of the third inning after an back-to-back RBI singles. Dordt would plate a run to make it 3-1 after
Logan Harris worked a bases loaded walk to score
Phoenix West. The fourth inning is where Jamestown took control of the game and scored five rus. Two runs were scored on a single and the other three came off Hayden Brown's three-run home run to make it 8-1. The Jimmies scored again off an error in center field from
Phoenix West that allowed the runner from third to score easily. Dordt never quit as they worked across three runs in the bottom of the fifth.
Logan Harris drove in
Joseph Schlesselman on an RBI triple,
Nolan Christianson scored Harris on an RBI single, and
Nate Eliason scored
Josh Tiersma on an RBI single. Dordt's efforts weren't enough as Jamestown scored one more run in the top of the seventh and the Defenders were unable to get any runs in the bottom of the seventh.Â
By the numbers:
- Dordt scored four runs on 10 hits with one error
- Jamestown scored 10 runs on 12 hits and didn't commit an error
- Logan Harris' triple was the only extra base hit of the game for Dordt

GAME TWO
HOW IT HAPPENED
Dordt found themselves behind early again after Jamestown plated two runs in the first inning. Singleton hit an RBI single to center field and Nelson reached first on a throwing error by
Jason Carrig that allowed a run to cross. Jamestown scored four more runs in the fifth to make the score 6-0. Dordt would eventually score in the seventh inning after
Dylan Stanley double and Nate ELiason drove him in with a single. Jamestown got an insurance run in the eighth. Dordt got one more run in the eighth after Schlesselman was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to score Carrig. Jamestown Scored one more in the ninth to secure their second win of the afternoon.
By the numbers:
- Dordt scored two runs on seven hits and committed three errors
- Jamestown scored eight runs on 11 hits and committed two errors
- Logan Harris and Dylan Stanley each had a doubleÂ
- Jared Hughes (L, 1-3) pitched 4.1 innings and gave up seven hits, six runs, one walk, and three strike outs
- Out of those six runs, one was earned
