GAME 1
HOW IT HAPPENED

Dordt slammed three homeruns and scored seven runs in the first five innings on the way to a 9-3 win over Warner in game one of their doubleheader played at Lake Wales, Florida.

Dordt's scoring started with a three-run homerun by Lauren Steenstra that got Aurora Tyson and Chloe Kreuz in and Kruez figured into a run in the fourth inning when she singled in Emma Groen.

The Defenders wasted no time in building the lead as Steenstra slugged her second homerun of the game and Groen followed with a two-run shot with Brynn Torrenga on base. Warner got three across in the home half of sixth inning but Dordt had an answer with Brooke Rule knocking Torrenga in with a double and Kruez had her third hit of the game while getting Rule in with a single.
