HOW IT HAPPENED
The Concordia Bulldogs scored a run each in the first and third innings on the way to a 2-0 win over Dordt in their doubleheader in Sioux Center. The games were originally scheduled for Seward, Nebraska but were moved due to anticipated poor weather.
The Bulldogs got a two-out single to plate a run in the first and a wild pitch led to their second run in the third inning.
Dordt had runners as far as second in the first, fifth and sixth innings but didn't get the timely hit to get a run and had a runner on base with two outs in the seventh before a fly  ball ended the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dordt Defenders managed split of their doubleheader with Concordia on Saturday with a 3-2 come-from-behind win in game two of the twinbill.
Concordia got a run in the first inning with a wild pitch and that held until the fourth inning when
Chloe Kreuz reached on an error and advanced on a ground out.
Ashtyn Grissom followed by putting the ball in play and  throwing error allowed her to reach and for Kreuz to score.
In the fifth inning a Brooke Rul double followed by a
Karli Olsen walk forced a Concordia pitching change. A passed ball advanced the runners and
Aurora Tyson's single scored Rule from third. A Kreuz single  got
Karli Olsen in from third base for a 3-1 lead.
In the bottom of the fifth Concordia struck for a run and had runners at first and second before a runner's interference call ended the inning on ground ball where
Emma Groen was run into trying to field the ball.
Dordt threatened in the sixth and seventh and stranded two runners in each and Concordia threatened against Dordt reliever
Jadyn Faber but a
Lauren Steenstra defensive gem at first base ended the threat. Faber worked a 1-2-3 seventh for her third save of the season.
THE NUMBERS
- Dordt had a 7-5 hits advantage.
- Concordia committed two errors.
- Lauren Steenstra had Dordt's one multi-hit game with a pair of singles.
- Brooke Rule had a double for Dordt's only extra base hit.
- Bailey Sample earned her fifth pitching win with three hits allowed in four and two-third innings and she struck out one with two walks.
- Jadyn Faber allowed two hits and pitched the final two and a third innings and didn't allow a run.
- Dordt is now 26-23 overall and 13-9 in the league. Concordia is 23-23 and 13-9 in the GPAC as well.
NEXT
The GPAC post season tournament will open on Wednesday, May 1 at Northwestern and Midland. Dordt will learn its post season assignment late Saturday.
