(Monday, August 19; Sioux Center, Iowa) Makenna Kolenda, a graduate of Grandville High School (Mich.) will be attending Dordt University and plans to join the Defender softball program.
Kolenda has played pitcher, the middle infield positions and outfield and has served as captain the last two years. She was also a part of the Grand Rapids Diamonds 18U team for three years.
"I chose Dordt because I love the community and what Dordt stands for," said Kolenda.
Makenna is the daughter of Jodi and Eddie Kolenda of Grandville, Michigan. She plans to study
accounting at Dordt.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).
