(Thursday, August 22; Sioux Center, Iowa) Aidyn Schemper, a graduate of Western Christian High School (Iowa), will be attending Dordt and will join the Defender softball program.

Schemper had a .358 batting average for the Wolfpack with a .416 on-base percentage. She had 29 hits in 22 games played and scored 22 runs with eight bases on balls.

"Everyone at Dordt was very welcoming and the Christian basis and different opportunities at the school excite me," said Schemper. 

Aydin is the daughter of Jeff and Jill Schemper of Sheldon, Iowa.  She plans to study business administration.

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).    

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
