Lydia Zylstra was named the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week announced by the league office earlier today.

Zylstra was part of a Defenders team that recorded a pair of shutouts last week against Dakota Wesleyan and Mount Marty. 

Notes: 

• Zylstra totaled 15 saves last week; 11 vs Dakota Wesleyan and four against Mount Marty
• the 11 saves against DWU was the third match with double-digit saves this season
• Zylstra pushed her career shutouts total to seven
• the senior is now 3-2-2 this season and ranks second in the GPAC with 52 saves
• Zylstra is the first Defenders player to earn the weekly GPAC honor
