(Wednesday, October 8; Sioux Center, Iowa) The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has announced the football players of the week for games played on October 4, and Dordt's Stephen Leinen (Junior; Harlan, Iowa) has been named the Special Teams Player of the Week for the third time.

GPAC Release 

Leinen converted 3-of-4 field goals from 44, 47, and 60 yards, with his only miss hitting the upright from 56 yards. He was also a perfect 6-for-6 on PATs and scored 15 points in Dordt's 51-0 win over Briar Cliff. The 60-yard field goal set a new school record and tied the GPAC record. Leinen's previous best was a 58-yard field goal set in 2023.

So far this season, Leinen is 6-for-8 on field goals and a perfect 23-for-23 on PATs. Dordt will face Waldorf on Saturday, October 11, in Forest City, Iowa.
