The Dordt University men's soccer team had three players earn all-conference honors announced by the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) earlier today.
All three Defenders,
Anton Forsch,
Levi Jaeger and
Julian Janssen, received honorable mention distinction.
Forsch, in his third year as a starter with the Defenders program, anchored a Dordt defense that ranked fifth in goals against average (1.41) and tied for fifth in shutouts (5). The senior from Karlsruhe, Germany, also led the team in both goals scored (5) and points (13) this season. Forsch converted all three of his penalty kicks this season and played a team-high 1,449 minutes. This is the first postseason honor for Forsch.
Janssen, a freshman from Xanten, Germany, played in all 17 matches with 13 starts primarily along the team's backline. Janssen tallied his first career assist in the Defenders 3-0 win against Bethel (Kan.) and was a key contributor of a defense that ranked fifth in the GPAC in goals against average (1.41). Janssen ranked third on the team in minutes played (1,180).Â
Jaeger claims the postseason honor for the second time after being named to the second team in 2024. Jaeger, a junior from Olathe, Kan., played as both a centerback and as a defensive center midfielder in the Defenders line-up. He was part of a defense that ranked fifth in the league in goals against average (1.41) and accounted for five shutouts. Jaeger was second on the team in minutes (1,359) and started 16 matches.
Dordt University, under the direction of Head Coach
Eric Bourdo, completed the regular season with a 4-7-6 overall record and finished tied for eighth place in the GPAC with Mount Marty and Doane at 1-5-4.
