Dordt earned its second straight win to open the season with a 65–53 victory over Grand View on Friday afternoon at the Bultman Center in Orange City, Iowa. Dordt used a steady defensive effort and timely scoring bursts to pull away in the second half.

The opening quarter saw the two teams exchange the lead.
Gracie Schoonhoven scored Dordt's first two baskets in the paint, but Grand View answered with a 7–2 run highlighted by a three-pointer and a layup from Claire Galbraith to grab a 9–6 lead midway through the quarter. Dordt briefly surged ahead after a steal and fast-break finish from
Willow Bleeker and a layup from
Macy Sievers, before Grand View's Eva Solseth and Galbraith again found the mark to put the Vikings up 11–6. Dordt responded with its own push — Sievers scored in the lane, and
Aubrey Burkhart connected from long range in the final minute as Dordt closed the period trailing just 21–17.
The Defenders flipped the momentum early in the second quarter. Sievers scored eight of Dordt's first 10 points of the period, hitting back-to-back three-pointers and assisting
Taylor Drent on a layup as Dordt moved in front 29–26. The Dordt defense forced six Grand View turnovers in the frame, and
Desta Hoogendoorn and Schoonhoven converted inside looks to keep the lead intact. A late triple by Eva Solseth pulled Grand View within one, but Dordt carried a 33–32 lead into halftime.
The third quarter belonged to Dordt's defense and post play. After trading early baskets, Dordt went on an 8–0 run featuring a putback from Hoogendoorn and a driving finish by Sievers to push the lead to 44–36. Grand View managed only eight points in the period as the Defenders forced repeated turnovers and controlled the boards.
Dordt put the game away in the fourth, keeping Grand View at bay through the entire period. Schoonhoven opened the quarter with a pair of strong finishes at the rim, and Burkhart added her third three-pointer of the game from the right wing to stretch the advantage to double digits. A pair of steals by Harazin and Sievers led to transition layups, capping a 12–2 stretch that gave Dordt its largest lead of 16 points with five minutes remaining. Dordt secured the 65–53 win.
