The Dordt softball team split a doubleheader on the road against the College of Saint Mary in Omaha, Nebraska with a 4-1 win in game one and a 13-3 loss in game two.

GAME 1
The Defenders worked out of a bases loaded situation in the first inning without giving up a run bug did surrender a run on a double with two outs in the fourth inning and trailed 1-0.Â
Abbey Hitchcock walked to lead off the fifth inning and
Makiah De Jager ran for her.Â
Julia Bremer singled in De Jager to tie the game after Bremer stole second base.
Brooke Rule added a single to give Dordt the lead, scoring Bremer and
Chloe Kreuz added a run scoring single for a 3-1 lead.
Dordt added another run in the sixth with Bremer doubling in Hitchcock and the Flames had just one base runner over the final two frames as Dordt got the 4-1 win.

GAME 2
A nine run third inning put the second game out of reach as Dordt dropped the five-inning decision. Dordt got a run on a Kreuz sacrifice fly that scored Rule after she initially reached with a single and stole second base. The Flames struck immediately for three runs on four hits and added a run in the second to lead 4-1.
The Flames then scored nine runs on seven hits in the third inning and Dordt countered with two in the top of the fourth with Steenstra delivering a run scoring single and
Molly Zylstra had a single that scored Steenstra. The Defenders were then retired in order in the fifth inning to end it.
