Dordt volleyball seized an early 2-0 lead against Northwest (Wash.) in the opening match of day two at Hope International in California, before the Eagles earned a reverse sweep to edge the Defenders in five: 27–25, 25–20, 11–25, 24–26, 11–15.

The Defenders closed their California trip with a four-set win over Life Pacific, using balanced offense and timely serving with eight aces to secure a 25–23, 21–25, 25–20, 25–20 victory. The Defenders improved to 3–1 on the season behind a .275 hitting percentage and a strong finish in sets three and four.  Dordt had a .378 kill efficiency in set four to end the match.
