The Dordt Defenders won a five-set match in Forest City, Iowa on Wednesday night to even their record in GPAC play at 1-1.  Dordt rallied from a 2-1 deficit to stay perfect in their eight-match series with Waldorf.

How It Happened

Set One
• Four early ties before Dordt pushed ahead 13-7
• Waldorf closed to 24-23, but Dordt held for a 25-23 win with Waldorf committing a service error on set point. 

Set Two
• Dordt led 9-5 before Waldorf tied it at 11-11
• Warriors scored three straight and stayed in control, winning 25-19

Set Three
• Waldorf opened 6-2 and led 17-9
• Dordt rallied to tie at 24-24 on back to back service aces by Laney Wolfswinkel, but Waldorf prevailed 27-25 on a kill and a Dordt attack error.

Set Four
• Dordt jumped out 9-4 and stretched to 16-11
• Defenders led 23-15 before Waldorf scored five in a row
• Dordt finished it off, 25-22 with Payton Doenhoefer providing set point on a kill

Set Five
• Tied three times early before Dordt went up 8-5
• Waldorf answered with four straight; tied again at 9-9, 10-10
• Dordt scored three in a row and held on 15-12 with Doenhoefer getting a kill to set up match point and an attack error allowed Dordt to secure the win.
