Box Score 2 Dordt volleyball rolled to a straight-set victory (25-19, 25-15, 25-18) over Governors State and bounced back from a 2-1 deficit for the second time this week to win a 3-2 decision over Cumblerand to finish the weekend 3-0 at a classic hosted by St. Ambrose at Davenport, Iowa.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Set 1:
- A back-and-forth start featured 10 ties and four lead changes.
- Up 12-10, Dordt went on a 6-1 run sparked by two service aces from Haley Wielenga and a pair of Laney Wolfswinkel kills.
- The Defenders closed the set on a 5-0 string of points, capped by a Chloe Huisman ace.
- Set 2:
- Governors State led early (3-2), but Dordt grabbed momentum with four straight points, including a Sara Holleman kill and two Governors State errors.
- Chloe Huisman delivered back-to-back aces during a 5-0 stretch to put Dordt  ahead at 9-5.
- A late 3-0 run featuring Holleman and Myra Carlson kills secured the 25-15 win.
- Set 3:
- Dordt raced to a 7-1 lead behind Wolfswinkel's serving (one ace) and kills from Madyson Fey and Ada Dekkers.
- Governors State trimmed the margin to 7-5, but the Defenders answered with a 5-1 run.
- Laney Wolfswinkel and Ada Dekkers combined for the final three points — Wolfswinkel scoring on a kill and forcing an error before Dekkers finished the sweep with a block.

DORDT LEADERS
Dordt rallied from 2-1 deficit to defeat Cumberland (Tenn.) 3-2 (20-25, 25-23, 19-25, 25-11, 15-7) on Saturday afternoon, September 13, at the St. Ambrose Classic to complete the weekend 3-0. It's also the second match Dordt has won in going five sets after starting the season 0-3 in those situations. Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Set 1:
- The opening frame featured multiple lead changes before Cumberland closed with a 6-1 run to win 25-20.
- Set 2:
- Set 3:
- Cumberland raced ahead 7-0 and never trailed, using three kills from Hazel Konkel during an 8-2 spurt to claim a 25-19 decision.
- Set 4:
- Dordt dominated from the start, jumping out to a 12-5 advantage with strong serving from Kylie Beckering and three kills by Haley Kuperus.
- Chloe Huisman served four straight points, including three aces, as the Defenders rolled 25-11 to force a fifth set.
- Set 5:
- Wolfswinkel and Dekkers teamed up for the final three points — Wolfswinkel hammering a pair of kills before Dekkers sealed the match with a block — as Dordt closed on a 6-1 run to take the tiebreaker 15-7.
