The Dordt Defender golf team is in third place after a first day total of 300 at the Mount Marty Fall Invite at Tatanka Golf Course in Niobrara, Nebraska. Day two of the competition will be on Tuesday, September 23.

THE ROUND

Sam Wolfe shot a 72 and is tied for fourth in the 41 golfer field and Caleb Douma is a stroke behind with a 73 and is tied for seventh. Trey Van Groningen added a 74 for the Defenders and is in the top-10 in the standings.  Wolfe's round was highlighted by an eagle and two birdies and Douma had three birdies and Van Groningen had four birdies.

Morningside leads the team race with a 288 and Mount Marty had a 297.  Dordt is three strokes in front of Briar Cliff's 303. Mount Marty's Wout Kerkhofs leads the field with a 68 and is three strokes clear of the field.
