Women's Basketball | NAIA National Championship 2nd Round Preview

Dordt will host Rocky Mountain in the NAIA National Championship 2nd Round at 3pm on Saturday, March 14 at the De Witt Gym in Sioux Center, Iowa.  The winner advances to the NAIA National Championship Final Site in Sioux City, Iowa with Round of 16 games scheduled for Thursday and Friday, March 19 and 20.  The Dordt/Rocky Mountain winner will face the MidAmerica Nazarene/Olivet Nazarene winner.

LAST TIME
Rocky Mountain was the winner on Friday night over Southern Oregon, 83-64.  The Battlin' Bears were up 18-8 after one quarter and 38-26 at halftime.  Southern Oregon went on a 13 point run after a Rocky Mountain basket to start the second half and got within 40-39 but the Bears responded with six in a row and were never seriously challenged the rest of the game. Rocky Mountain held Southern Oregon to 33 percent field goal shooting and had a 55-33 rebounding advantage and had 21 offensive rebounds.

Dordt was a 120-47 winner over Simpson on Friday night after taking a 13-0 lead to start the game and holding a 39-15 lead after one quarter.  The Defenders were up 73-20 at halftime and converted 63 percent of their field goals and had a 50-27 rebounding advantage. All 14 Defenders scored and four players hit double figures.
