The Dordt Defender volleyball team had little trouble making it a season sweep of the Briar Cliff Chargers on Wednesday night by set scores of 25-11, 25-17, 25-13.
Dordt started fast in set one with a 7-1 lead and didn't let up in the set while preserving a 25-11 win and closed the set with five straight points, the last two coming on blocks by
Alli Timmermans and
Ellie Voss. Early in set two Dordt had a five point run to go from down 2-1 to up 6-2 and the string of points featured kills by four different players and a Briar Cliff attack error. The Chargers closed to within 14-11 but Dordt had a five point run to take control back and won the set 25-17.
Leading 12-9 in set three,
Brenna Krommendyk had a pair of kills and
Riley Doenhoefer had a kill as well and Dordt built the lead to 17-9 and effectively put the set out of reach.
