The Dordt Defender volleyball team faced its fifth top-10 rated opponent in 10 days and absorbed a 3-0 loss to the Northwestern Red Raiders in GPAC play on Saturday, October 29 in Sioux Center.
Dordt started slowly in set one and the Raiders took advantage in taking a 10-4 lead. Dordt was unable to seriously dent the lead and lost a 25-15 decision in set one. Set two was tighter with Dordt leading 13-10. Four unanswered points gave Northwestern a 14-13 lead bit
Brenna Krommendyk had a kill to tie the set 14-14. Back to back points by the visitors made it 16-14 and Dordt was never closer than two the rest of the set. Dordt got within 21-19 but four straight points gave Northwestern a 25-19 win.
Set three was tight through out with 19 ties up to a 21-21 score. A service error gave Northwestern a one point lead and an attack error put them ahead 23-21. A Dordt timeout followed and an attack error made it 24-21 and Northwestern's Bekah Horstman recorded a kill for the final of 25-21.

- Northwestern had a 39-33 kills advantage with Dordt hitting for an .082 kill efficiency and Northwestern's kill efficiency was .257.
- Northwestern held a 7-2 ace serves edge while Dordt had seven points from blocks and Northwestern had eight.
- Ellie Voss led Dordt with 10 kills and was in on three blocks.
- Riley Doenhoefer had eight kills and Brenna Krommendyk had six. Krommendyk was in on four blocks.
- Madison Vis got to 16 digs while Sophie Johnson got to 18 assists and Megan Raszler had 13.
- Dordt is 7-8 in league play and 13-10 overall. Dordt concludes the regular season against Morningside on Tuesday night in Sioux City.
