The Dordt Defender women's volleyball team won a clash of rated teams on Wednesday night at the DeWItt Gym in Sioux Center, Iowa.
Dordt was in control much of the match, taking the lead for good in set one at 5-4 as part of a five-point run that pushed the difference up to 8-4. Dordt briefly relinquished the lead and trailed 20-18 but a block by
Brenna Krommendyk and
Isabella Cumana followed by an attack error tied the set. Dordt took the lead on another attack error and Krommendyk and Cumana had a block to get Dordt up 23-20 before the Defenders won it 25-22.

The Defenders extended the lead to 7-2 in set two and were in control the entire way, securing a 25-19 win with the final point coming on a
Megan Raszler kill. Dordt trailed once in set three at 1-0 but built the lead to 18-10 before finishing off the set in the minimum three sets 25-15.
THE NUMBERS
- Dordt had a 43-38 kills advantage and had a .286 kill efficiency to Wesleyan's .133.
- Dordt scored 11 points on blocks to three for the Tigers.
- Grace Langemeier had 12 kills and Corrina Timmermans eight with 14 digs.
- Ellie Voss had seven kills with two solo blocks and four block assists.
- Brenna Krommendyk had eight kills and five block assists.
- Makenna Kooima had 25 digs with Megan Raszler and Sophie Johnson each putting up 24 and 14 assists.
- Madison Vis had two ace serves.
- Dordt is 8-1 and 1-0 in league play while Dakota Wesleyan slides to 7-2 and 0-1.
- Dordt will travel to Orange City to face Northwester on Saturday  at 5:00.
