Hastings defeats Dordt 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-13)
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dordt Defender volleyball team fell 3-0 in a road contest at Hastings College on Friday night, October 6 in a GPAC contest.
The hosts controlled much of the contest and hit for a .337 kill efficiency to secure the win and stop the Dordt winning streak at two.
Dordt trialed 10-3 in set one before rallying to within 16-15 with a four-point run and a three-point run highlighted by back to back
Bryleigh Schweer service aces. A Majesta Valasek kill stopped the Dordt streak and started a four-point Hastings splurge and Dordt got no closer than four the rest of the set in falling 25-18.
Dordt started fast in set two and had a 4-0 lead with
Riley Doenhoefer getting two kills, Schweer one and Schweer and
Isabella Cumana teamed up for a block. The hosts rallied and tied the set at seven and eight before taking the lead as part of a nine-point run that turned a 10-8 deficit into an 18-13 advantage. The run put the momentum squarely behind Hastings and the Broncos held Dordt at bay for a 25-18 win.
Hastings forced Dordt to take two early timeouts in set three as it took control with a 12-1 advantage and the Broncos played with a significant lead the rest of the set while winning 25-13.

- Hastings had a 46-25 kill advantage and a .337-.121 kill efficiency edge.
- Dordt scored five points on blocks to Hastings' four.
- Hastings had a 6-3 ace serves advantage.
- Riley Doenhoefer had eight kills to lead Dordt.
- Bryleigh Schweer had six kills and three ace serves.
- Kelly McArthur put up 17 assists and Makenna Kooima had 16 digs.
- Dordt is now 2-7 in the GPAC and 3-12 overall. Hastings is 2-7 and 7-12
