(Thursday, December 14; Sioux Center, Iowa) Lincoln Banwart, a senior at Adel DeSoto Minburn High School (Iowa), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender golf program.
"Lincoln shows a passion for developing his golf talents and enjoys the process and work it takes to succeed. He has a great attitude and a tremendous desire to compete. We look forward to watching Lincoln excel at the collegiate level," said Dordt golf coach Jon Crane.
Banwart had a season best 73 in 2023 and shot an average of 80.1. He is a three-time state qualifier and earned Raccoon River all-conference honors during his career.
"I'm choosing Dordt because it gives me a calm feeling whenever I step on campus. I also chose Dordt because it is a small school with an accredited engineering course with ABET. This will lead to having close, Christ-centered relationships with my classmates, professors and coaches," said Banwart.
Lincoln is the son of Bart and Leslie Banwart of Adel, Iowa. He plans to study civil engineering.
