The Dordt Defender men's golf team will compete at the Mount Marty Classic on Monday and Tuesday, September 21-22. The event will be held at Tatanka Golf Club in Niobrara, Nebraska . Both days will have 18 holes of competition.

Dordt University moved up one spot in the final team standings to finish fourth at the Siouxland Invite, which concluded Tuesday at Landsmeer Golf Club in Orange City, Iowa.

The Defenders entered Tuesday's final two rounds tied for fifth after opening the tournament with a 305 at The Ridge Golf Club in Sioux Center on Monday. Dordt followed with a 288 in Round 2 and closed with a 280 at Landsmeer to finish the 54-hole tournament with an 873.

Hastings won the team title with an 848, followed by Northwestern at 851 and Morningside at 860. Dordt's 873 moved the Defenders past Doane, which finished fifth with an 876.

Samuel Wolfe and Trey Van Groningen led Dordt's first team with matching 216 totals to tie for 14th. Wolfe shot rounds of 73, 73 and 70, while Van Groningen carded rounds of 76, 70 and 70.

Wolfe closed with a 70 after shooting 35 on both the front and back nine. He made three birdies and 12 pars in the final round. Van Groningen also finished with a 70, shooting 35-35. His second-round 70 included three birdies, while he improved to a 70 again in the final round.

Caleb Douma provided Dordt's low round of the tournament, shooting a 68 in the final round to finish tied for 20th with a 219. Douma's final round included four birdies, and he shot a 33 on the front nine before finishing with a 35 on the back nine. He followed a second-round 72 in which he made four birdies.

Ian Grossmann finished 29th with a 222 after rounds of 77, 73 and 72. Grossmann closed with a 35 on the front nine and 37 on the back nine, making three birdies and 10 pars in the final round. His second round was also a 73, with three birdies.

Leyton Roetman completed Dordt's first-team lineup in 62nd place with a 233. He shot 81, 74 and 78. Roetman had two birdies in each of the final two rounds. His Round 2 score of 74 came with a 38-36 split, while he finished Round 3 with a 38-40 split.

Dordt's B team finished 11th with a 908. Joseph Wolfe was fourth individually with a 212, closing with a tournament-low 64. Evan Wood finished tied for 40th at 226, and Aaron Greene was tied for 51st at 229.

Dordt's C team placed 17th with a 968. Caelen Wigboldy led the group with a 239, followed by Jackson Lundbohm and Caden Van Groningen at 242. Deacon Branderhorst finished with a 249 and Reece DeBoom had a 252.

Isaiah Breems competed as an individual and finished 48th with a 228. Breems saved his best round for the final day, shooting a 69 in Round 3.

Dordt's first team finished with an 873, moving from a tie for fifth after the opening round into fourth place in the final standings.

Dordt will compete next at the NAIA Midwest Invitational at TPC Deere Run on September 28-29 before concluding the fall season on October 19-20 at the Virginia McCoy Invitational in Kansas City.
