Game Time... The Dordt University softball team will make its 2023 season debut this weekend as they host the first of three indoor classics at the newly built
American State Bank Sports Complex.
The Defenders, under the direction of head coach
Jeff Zomer, will play four games in two days, beginning with a doubleheader against Peru State on Friday, Feb.10 at 4/6pm. Dordt returns to action on Saturday for a pair of single games, vs #11 Grand View at noon followed by a 4pm game against Buena Vista.
GPAC Preseason Poll...The Defenders were picked to finish sixth in the GPAC preseason coaches poll released on Jan.26. Dordt tallied 73 points, five points out of the top five where Mount Marty sits at No.5 with 78 points. Midland, last year's GPAC regular season champion, was picked first, followed by Northwestern.
Season Schedule...The 2023 regular season schedule consists of 46 games, 24 non-conference and a 22-game GPAC slate where the Defenders will play every conference opponent 2x (doubleheader).

Dordt will host three indoor classics at the ASB Dome where they will play four games each weekend (12 total). The Defenders will then head to Florida and play 12 games over their spring break before returning home to host Dakota Wesleyan on March 25 to begin GPAC play.
