RECENTLY

Dordt swept its two games with Mount Marty on Tuesday night by scores of 5-1 and 2-1. Abby Kraemer struck out seven in the opener and Dordt got four runs in the fifth inning on the way to the win with Lauren Steenstra accounting for two singles along with Aurora Tyson. Chandler Schemper delivered two runs batted in and scored a run. In game two Hailey Wilken got the pitching win after going five innings in the start and she struck out two. Alexa Kopaska and Abby Kraemer teamed up in relief to secure the one-run win with Kraemer getting the final two outs. Schemper had a double and Taylor Knaack had two singles.

Midland swept Concordia on April 7 by scores of 7-0 and 8-1. Rincon threw a no-hitter in the shutout and faced one over the minimum with 15 strikeouts and Prai and Pfitzer each had two hits with Pfitzer knocking two runs with a homerun and single. Foote and Rincon each had a homerun and three runs batted in to help the Warriors to the 8-1 win with Coler scattering three hits and along no earned runs.

THE SERIES

Midland leads the series 10-3 since 2018.  The teams split the regular season doubleheader in Sioux Center last season with Midland winning 5-0 and Dordt taking game two 2-0.  The teams played again in Fremont during the postseason with Dordt giving up a run in the sixth inning on an error and that was enough for Midland to forge the win a GPAC Tournament game played in Fremont. Kraemer was the pitcher of record for Dordt with four strikeouts and she allowed six hits. Ella Koster had a double for Dordt while Midland's Prai had two singles and a stolen base.
