Dordt never led in set one, battling back to tie the score at 9-9 after a 4-0 deficit to begin and then lost set two 25-22 after surrendering the lead at 6-5 as part of a 6-0 run to take an 8-5 lead. The

Defenders got things going their way in the third set to lead 7-1 right away and maintained a healthy lead the rest of the way for a 25-18 win to get within 2-1.

Set four saw Dakota State get out to a 14-10 lead before an 8-1 Defender run put them up by three on a Sophie Johnson kill. Dakota State tied it at 19-19 and the Trojans were up 23-21 before Riley Doenhoefer got a kill followed by an Ellie Dokter kill. A Dakota State attack error got Dordt to set point but a service error after a timeout tied it but Dakota State gave the point right back on an attack error. A kill tied the score again and back to back aces by the Trojans gave them the match win.
