Men's Golf Commit | Caleb Douma

(Thursday, December 14; Sioux Center, Iowa) Caleb Douma, a senior at Western Christian High School (Iowa), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender golf program.

"Caleb is an outstanding young man with a servant's heart and a competitor's spirit. His golf skillset is extensive, and we look forward to working with him on fine tuning and developing his ability to shoot consistently low scores. Caleb will have an immediate impact on our program both on and off the course and we are excited to have join us in the fall," said Dordt golf coach Jon Crane

Douma shot a 75.5 average in 2023 with a low of 73 and he had a 78.3 average in 2022 with a career best 69. He tied for 11th in the Class 2A Iowa High School State Championship in 2022 and finished tied for 9th in 2023.  In both 2022 and 2023 Douma was named First-Team All-State.

"I chose Dordt University because from the moment I stepped on campus I could tell Christianity was deeply rooted in the institution. After meeting with the coaches, players and professors it was evident to me Dordt was the place that would help me fully grow as a man of Christ," said Douma.

Caleb is the son of Ross and Shawn Douma of Sioux Center, Iowa.
