The Dordt Defender volleyball team lost a 3-0 decision with Morningside on Wednesday, October 23 in Sioux City, Iowa. The Defenders lost 25-22, 25-18, 25-16.

The Defenders' leads were brief with Morningside getting to 15 points first in all three sets and Dordt never led let in those sets. Dordt had a 5-4 lead in set one but a 6-0 run by the Mustangs put them in control and the hosts were up 20-12 before the Defenders put together an answer. Dordt cut the difference down to four points at 20-16 with Ellie Dokter getting two ace serves in the string and Dordt got the margin down to 24-22. After a timeout the Mustangs got a kill and won 25-22.
Dordt was up 5-4 in set two but the hosts took the lead for good with a 4-0 run and Dordt was never closer than three the rest of the set before falling 25-18. Morningside closed the match with a 25-16 win in set three after taking the lead for good at 8-7.
