Dordt volleyball opened its weekend in Davenport, Iowa with a 3-0 sweep of the host school, St. Ambrose (25-21, 25-21, 27-25) Friday afternoon at Lee Lohman Arena. Dordt is playing in three matches this weekend at the classic.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set One
- Dordt trailed 14-11 before a 6-0 streak, highlighted by Laney Wolfswinkel's ace and kills from Ellie Dokter and Haley Wielenga, gave the Defenders a 17-14 edge.
- St. Ambrose trimmed the gap to 21-20, but a late push — capped by Wolfswinkel's ace and a Dokter kill — secured a 25-21 win.
Set Two
- Seven ties kept it tight early with St. Ambrose taking a 16-14 lead. Dordt answered with a 6-1 run featuring kills by Wolfswinkel and Haley Kuperus.
- The Bees stayed close, but Wolfswinkel and Kuperus combined for the final three points as Dordt claimed the set 25-21.
Set Three
- Dordt raced ahead 5-1, but St. Ambrose rallied to take a 20-19 lead.
- The Defenders responded with a block by Ada Dekkers and Kuperus and an ace from Amy Doef to regain control.
- After fending off two set points, Dordt finished on a 3-0 run, with Kylie Beckering's ace sealing a 27-25 victory.
